1. Kanaka Durga Temple, Vijayawada
The Kanaka Durga temple is located on the top of a hill called Indrakeeladri at the entrance of the city. The “Dasara” is celebrated in a very big way here with large number of pilgrims taking part in the festivities. A holy dip in the river Krishna is also a big highlight of the place.

2. Manginapudi Beach.
Manginapudi Beach located near Machilipatnam, the beach attracts lacks of pilgrims during Magha poornam as it is ideal for sea bathing. The Pandu ranga swamy temple is a famous pilgrim center. APTDC has developed proper infrastructure in and around the beach.

3. Bhavani Island
Bhavani Island with a total area of 130 acres is situated in the middle of river Krishna. Journey to the island by boat is a very pleasant experience. An ideal place for picnics and other special occasions. This island is under the control of APTDC. Meetings and marriages can also organized on this island with prior permission.

       4.Victoria Museum
This museum has a well preserved collection of ancient sculptures, painting, idols, weapons, cutlery and inscriptions of Queen Victoria. It is located on Bunder Road of Vijayawada City

5.Penuganchiprolu
This is where the famous Tirupathamma Ammaravari temple is located and is about 55 km from Vijayawada. The yearly Jatra or fair is very famous and is attended by thousands of devotees

6.Pedakallupalli
Sri Durga Nageswara Swamy temple was built in 1292 AD by Somasivacharyulu. Later in 1782 AD, compound walls were constructed by Raja Yarlagadda Kodanda Ramanna of Challapalli. During 1795 AD, Gopuram was built by Sri Nageswara Naidu.

7.Dhananbadu
Buddhist monument is situated near Jaggaiahpet which belongs to Mahayana time.

8.Muktyala
Bhavani Mukteswara Swami temple, which was built in 1863 is one of the most popular temples here. Mukteswaram temple, built on the river bed of Krishna is open for 6 months for devotees. The temple is submerged under Krishna River for the other 6 months

9.Tirumala Giri
Lord Venkateswara Swami temple situated on a hill top, is 4 kms away from Jaggaiahpet.

10.Padana
This town is famous for its beautiful Kalamkari weavings on bed sheets, door curtains etc. These designs incorporate elements of nature like flowers, leaves, birds, horses, elephants etc. and convert them into colorful patterns.

11.Challapalli Fort
The fort was built in the year 1576 and is being ruled by Jamindars till today. Cultural programmers were hosted and poets were given patronage during the era of Chellapalli Raja Y. Siva Rama Prasad.

12.Prakasam Barrage.
The imposing Prakasam Barrage, across the river Krishna is 1223.5 mt long. A pleasant walk down the barrage with the gentle breeze on your face and a beautiful view of the shimmering lake can be a great way to spend your evening. Andhra Pradesh largely owes its richness in agriculture to the Prakasam Barrage as the project has helped in the irrigation of lakhs of acres of agricultural lands.

13.Kolletipeddamma Temple
The temple was built 800 years back by the Chola Dynasty. During the Jatra, or the yearly festival, held in March every year, lakhs of devotees participate and seek the blessings of the Divine Mother.

14.vedadri

Yoga Nanda Lakshmi Narasimha Swami temple and Siva temples are the key highlights here.


15.Movva
       Legend has it that when Modgalya Sage was doing penance, an illiterate      named  Varadaiah, become literate and went on to become a great poet called   Kshetraiah

16.Ghantasala
It is a historical town where many Buddhist sculptures were found. Alexander Rea excavated the stupa at Ghantasala, which had a circumference of 112 feet and a height of 23 feet. The ruined Maha Chaitya or stupa that was excavated here is of a unique design. A cube of solid bricks is set in the centre, inscribed with 12 constellations of the zodiac. A Buddhist museum is an attraction here.

 17.Hamsala Devi (Sagara Sangamam)
This is the sacred place where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal. A beautiful destination, lakhs of pilgrims worship Lord Venugopala Swamy in Magha Poornima.

 18.Panduranga Swamy Temple
Located at Chilakalapudi at Machilipatnam, this temple constructed in 1929 year was built by Sri Bakta Narasimha.

 19.Church, Machilipatnam
A Catholic church built during the Dutch era (nearly 200 years old) is worth a visit.

 20Mopidevi

Sri Valli Devasena Subramanyeswara Temple is famous here.
